Despite bringing these artworks together in this pairing, I see them like magnets, repelling one another and existing apart. They are titled ‘Whirlwind’, and ‘Moon’, and were intended to be containers for a potted plant, and blooming flowers in water. In their creation, they drew on ancient techniques of pinch pot forming and basketry.
