Yolk, 2024

Porcelain clay, glaze.

Dimensions: 10 x 15cm

I thought of Yolk as the egg that Asclepius / Hygeia held together. The egg has continued to be a symbol occurring throughout my training as an Art Psychotherapist. The egg for me has the capacity to take on different forms and meanings, as it moves across contexts. On this occasion, I think of yolk as something delicious and nutritious. Potentially representing art itself, offering the capacity for play and a capability to articulate things that are challenging to articulate.
