Sheath 2024
Clay, Glaze, Iron, Cotton, Metal
Dimensions:
A swan, knitting using four needles and a sheath tucked in at the tip to create two spiders webs. The swan wears a Venetian plague doctors mask. The piece muses on the individual and group experience, with groups being nebulous with differing perceptions taking place at varying levels and the inter connectivity of people in time and space.
It draws upon mu love of “Maman” (Louise Bourgeois) work, and the experiences of facing up to fear. I think it also muses on identity and heritage, things inherited, and knowledge passed on.
